Reacting to Progress

[This Week’s Update]

So this week has mainly been ensuring we’ve got every single piece of documentation ready for when we do our final write up of the report. I’ve also been finalising the new C++ code for the Pi and our electronics. We’re still in our testing stage since we’ve had to switch to the Pi5 so abruptly. The weeks hasn’t been too amazing, just rather time consuming.

Besides our masters project, I’ve been making my own react native app for a few weeks now. It’s still very much a work in progress but it’s coming along nicely. I’m learning a lot about front-end development and it’s been quite an interesting journey so far. Typescript is a nice language but I still kind of suck as this front-end dev stuff. The back-end is alot easier that I expected it to be to. This has been an idea I’ve had for years now so I’m glad I finally got around to it and finally have the capability to make it. Overall after writing it I’ve realised that my ui/animation ambitions are a bit too high for me at this stage and I’m wondering if I could ship the app without my high ambitions and just focus on making something functional… I wonder how deeply it would impact the success. I really don’t want to have to manage a load of social media accounts but it seems you have to nowadays so I think I need to start a few social media accounts for my app towards the end of the month.

Anyway, thanks for reading my ramble, see you next week.
