Nano No More

[This Week’s Update]

So… Its a bit late and its a hard lesson to learn but… The Jetson Nanos we were provided with are kind of bad. 75% of the Nanos we were given have an issue with the I2C bus. The only working Nano’s CPU gave up on us when testing current measure ANA chips. Nvidia themselves has a great solution though. Buy a new one.

So we’re using our own PI5 now and have to redesign the PDU in such a short time frame however I’ve remanaged our time as a team so all 4 of us can work simultaniously and we can ensure we’re still on track and deliver what we intended with the additions we’ve added along the way.

Testing is coming along rather well. Sorry I dont have an pictures for this post however our arms design allows a factor of saftey of 2.2! Since we’ve been adding a few new components such as limit switches and current measuring chips, we needed to really update the code. A team member wrote our original testing scripts in Python as it was quick and easy. I’ve now translated it into C++ and ensured we’ve got functionality to work on our PI5 and with our new components.

Busy 2 weeks honestly. Its also my brothers birthday soon so I’ve had to grab him a refurbished laptop and upgrade myself. Its always fun to do so but I had to deal windows and their… Methods of doing things. Not the greatest fun.

Anyway, thanks for reading my ramble, see you next week… or the week after, who knows c:
