Ctrl+Alt+Repeat; Iterating Our Way to EEG Success

[This Week’s Update]

I was waiting to post this for a nice image of the team however a member wasn’t in today due to unforseen circumstances. I’m hoping they’ll be back tomorrow so we can get a nice image of everyone together and i can update this post accordingly or at least have it ready for next week.

We have had our 2 weeks easter break however we all only took a week off so we could get back to work on our project. We’ve been working on finalising the documentation for our report, which has been a bit time consuming but we’re almost there. We decied to change the system design once again which is real bad this late but we completed it in about three days.

We’re now leverageing 3 arduinos, back to a Jetson Nano which is a glorified wifi chip. PCA9685, 4 limit switches, INA chip, a relay and two of our forementioned servos. A dodgey power converversion part that we bought off of Amazon (thanks amazon, rife with scams as always) broke our PI. We have had everything working on a single board so we know it possible but since we haven’t had any funding from the University, we’ve ran out of funds and time to get our desired setup working. Our Arduino Unos and Jetson Nano works well enough and the main scope of the project was proving EEG is viable and possible for this application and we’ve achieved that goal.

New basic flow diagram for our project setup. Will be digitized soon.

So besides testing the masters and working on our final write up, I’ve been working on my own personal app as per-normal. I have bullied a few of my friends to test a few of the features and begged them to be very critical. They overall seem to be rather happy with it as its something that we all will use and hopefully other people will use and enjoy. They gave some overall great feed back and since I only have an android, having a few friends testing with IOS was really helpful as there are issues on the IOS that just don’t arise on Android devices. Its been coming along nicely and I’m glad to be able to minorly share progress. Once I’m in the final testing stages (hopefully by end of year since I’ve been doing this for years now), I’ll show a much more detailed outlook on the app and the premiss behind it.

Anyway, thanks for reading my ramble, see you next week.
